Dunottar Castle. Sorry, I know this is supposed to be about estates but Dunottar is one of the most spectacular clifftop castles in the universe. Next time you are in Europe, make a detour by way of Stonehaven.

20% of this county is owned by just one estate. Nearly half of it is in barely twenty hands.

There seem to be more trees being planted here than a natural arboreal enthusiasm would sustain. Any suggestions that this may have more to do with the substantial grants available would be most unwelcome.
