Lairg - a centre of Highland hospitality! The reason that I call it this is simply that Lairg is very central to everything that the Northern Highlands has to offer. From Lairg, roads lead to the North coast, East coast and the West coast, each drive about an hour.

It is a lovely place to stay, nestled in the hills alongside the banks of Little Loch Shin.

Lochview Bed and Breakfast
Lochview Bed and Breakfast is located on the banks of Little Loch Shin in the village of Lairg. Lairg means “the meeting of roads” which makes it an ideal location for your holiday in the highlands as you can reach the North, West and East coasts in less than one hours drive (an hour and a half to John O’Groats).

Handa Island near Durness
Handa Island is an extremely important seabird breeding colony and nature reserve. The island is beautiful with its dramatic cliffs that dominate the island. There are many grey seals and common seals on the beaches. The common seal is actually less common than the grey seal and so it is therefore very important that colonies are maintained.
