In the centre of Brora, at the bridge, a road heads off inland up the side of the river (signposted Fascally). Follow this road to the parking and picnic area. From here there is a lovely walk along the side of Brora River. You can continue this walk to Loch Brora, this will make it a complete afternoons walk, but it is suitable for the whole family.
Mentioned prominently at the Brora Heritage Centre as a place of special interest to persons seeking genealogical information from tombstones and a source to the Clynelish Heritage Society. Brora's culture, archaeology and industrial heritage portrayed through an exhibition, hands-on displays and dinosaur play area.
A small industrial village having at one time a coal pit, boat building, fishing, salt mining, fish curing, lemonade factory, Clynelish Single Malt distillery (at one time called the Brora distillery), wool mill, bricks and a stone quarry.

Lairg has shops, pubs restaurants, canoe and sailboard hire.Inverness, the Highland capital and Loch Ness are an hour's drive. John O'Groats, Cape Wrath and Britain's highest waterfall are ideal day trips.
