IT’S CURTAINS FOR WATSON

Labour MSP Mike Watson has resigned from the Scottish Parliament after pleading guilty to Wilful Fireraising.

Watson, who initially pleaded his innocence to the charge, was rumbled when CCTV pictures showed the MSP setting fire to curtains in a public lounge of the plush Prestonfield House Hotel in Edinburgh where he had been attending a function.

In one moment of madness, the career of one of Scotland’s brightest politicians is up in flames. A bit like the curtains.
