Parliamentary Standards
(sic)
The
Standards Committee of the Scottish Parliament has issued
Consultation Paper 2004 (Session 2) Replacing the Members
Interest Order. In it they invite responses about what
Members of the Scottish Parliament should be obliged to declare
as registrable interests, outside earnings or gifts.
There is a
serious side to this. In a phrase well-beloved by trite politicians,
there should be "zero-tolerance" on issues such
as MSP's remuneration. The public has a 100% right to know
where every penny that an MSP earns comes from.

With thanks
to Robbie the Pict for continuing to be a septic boil on the
arse of the establishment and giving us the "heads up"
on this issue.
