RENFREW BASHES THE BISHOP

Scotland’s new Roman Catholic Cardinal has launched a vitriolic attack on what he deems to be a “shameful” nation and most particularly those most traditional enemies of the Catholic establishment, Gays and unmarried couples who live together.

In an interview with The Scottish Mail on Sunday, Cardinal Keith O’Brien warned that the country was in danger of deteriorating into a “Bacchanalian state” where everyone was obsessed with their own sexual pleasure.

The hardline comments finally banish into touch any lingering suggestion that the newly appointed Cardinal might prove to be a liberal in terms of the Catholic Church’s rigid stance on morality.

Following hard on the heels of the Pope’s comments earlier this year that Scotland had become a “secular nation” in which the message of Christ was no longer listened to, Cardinal O’Brien announced his intention to mount a crusade, no less, to “re-Christianise Scotland”.

Oh goody. Just what the world needs. Another religious zealot.
