Maggie Bell One of Scotland's first true Rock-chicks and five times voted UK Female Vocalist of the Year. A fabulous blues/rock singer in the Janis Joplin mould, her career peaked in the early 70's when she fronted "Stone the Crows" , a fine band who never quite survived the tragic death (electrocuted on stage by a faulty microphone) of their inspirational guitarist, Les Harvey, brother of Alex. |

Alexander Graham Bell The Scot who invented the telephone and gave his name to the excrutiatingly banal expression "Give us a bell sometime". Without him there would be no internet and you wouldn't be reading this rubbish now, so if you want someone to blame, it's all his fault.

Bell's Whisky One of Scotland's best known blended whisky brands, but not a patch, it must be said, on FirstFoot 10 Year Old Single Malt. The Bell's slogan is "Afore ye go", presumably an abbreviated version of "afore ye go discoverin' whit a decent whisky's meant tae taste like."
