Flakie; (flay..key)

A Glasgow expression meaning to become demonstrably angry. As in "(the bampot's aboot tae) pull a flakie".

Weejie; (wee...jee)

Derogatory term applied by Edinburgh people to the natives of Glasgow

Bampots; (bam...poats)

People of less than average sanity, generally inclined towards violence

Rammy; (rah...may)

A noisy fight or brawl involving two or more groups of people, most commonly bampots.

Forfochen; (for..foCH...en)

Worn out, exhausted. "Completely forfochen!" Like, after a rammy.

Peep; (Peeep)

The lowest level at which a gas flame can be set without going out. The essence of Scottish cooking, especially the famous broths, which must always be cooked over several hours, if not days, on the peep.

Boak, or boke; (Bow...k)

Vomit

Retching without vomital issue.

Pump; (Puump)

To break wind, uninhibitedly As in, The wee bastard pumped a shitey ming enough tae make us dry-boak.

sweetiewife; (Sweeetti-wyf)

A gossip, either female or male. A term derived from street-vendors of confectionery, the sandwich bars of their day, who were renowned for their open eyes and loose tongues, and whose information could literally be bought for sweeties.
