Did you know that Fettes School was
originally intended to be for the poor and needy of Edinburgh
?
It was substantially endowed in 1766
by an Edinburgh merchant and philanthropist, one William Fettes,
for this very purpose.
So, why is it, 300 years on, that anyone
apart from the poor and needy can attend this school ? Why
is it that our current Prime Minister is an ex-pupil and it
is automatically viewed as a potential educational choice
for the offspring of the high aristocracy ?

Did you know that Berwick, which is
part of Scotland really, is still officially at war with Russia?
Don't fancy their chances much if it
comes to a fight though.
Thae Russkies would have nae chance.
