Getting
ready to go down to the Job Centre
|
|
The death was announced today of a 71 year old snob who had bugger
all to do with Scotland. Please all fly the flags outside your
castles and baronial homes at half-mast.
We do not wish to dwell on the shortcomings
of Princess Margaret, the Scottish newspapers are being as nice
as possible about her, but finding it difficult to maintain a
universally positive tone.
What FirstFoot objects to is having
the story so high on the news agenda. Margaret was a drink sodden,
chain-smoking, rude and obnoxious individual who had precious
little relevance to Scotland. So, a footnote at the end of the
news would be much more in keeping with her place in the Scottish
firmament.
FirstFoot suggests:
"An unemployed drunk died
today".
