The recent criticism of Prime
Minister Tony Blair's decision to continue a family holiday
rather than interrupt it to attend the funeral of "the
greatest Parliamentarian of his generation" and former
Cabinet colleague, Robin Cook, has led to a decision by the
Scottish Office to issue a guideline paper.
The paper focuses on circumstances
when the "greatest Scotsman of modern times", First
Minister Jack McConnell, will attend funerals and other public
events.
We are pleased to reproduce the guidelines
in full:
| Scenario |
Will attend |
| The
funeral will be covered within pages 1-5 of the Scottish
Daily Record |
Y |
| The
funeral won't be covered within pages 1-5 of the Scottish
Daily Record |
